Chateau Lafite Rothschild

France > Bordeaux > Médoc > Pauillac

Bought by a different branch of the Rothschild family this famous name has been developed by Baron Eric de Rothschild since the 1970s.

Only vines of 40 years and over go into making Chateau Lafite and a maximum of 15-20,000 cases are produced annually in temperature controlled conditions. It has performed strongly throughout the 1990s and into this decade. Whatever vintage you purchase expect to experience an aroma of almonds and violets. Our 1986 will benefit from long ageing and has much in common with the excellent 1945-1949 sequence. The 1990 yield was large and very good quality.
