Chateau Cheval Blanc

France > Bordeaux > Libournais > Saint-Emilion

This famously discrete chateau is located close to Pomerol and its 37 hectares benefit from near perfect wine growing terroir.

The blend of cabernet franc and merlot offers elegance, finesse and a great finish and many wine lovers regard Cheval Blanc as unique. Its complexity and tannins permit great longevity. For example, the 1947 vintage will remain excellent for decades to come. The 1990 will continue to improve for another ten years and is full of meaty fruit. If you fancy the 2006 you'll have to wait until 2020 for it to peak. Cheval Blanc regularly scores 95/100 at tastings.
